Target Species – Freshwater: Perch, Chub, Trout, Roach, Dace, Bream, Carp
Suggested Rigging: Micro jig head (0.5g–3g), dropshot, or split shot rig.
The Battle Grub 2.5cm: Micro Lure, Maximum Aggression
The Battle Grub 2.5cm is a high-action curly tail grub built to provoke strikes from fish that ignore bigger offerings. At 25mm, it’s the perfect imitation of a tiny leech, bloodworm, or invertebrate — the staple diet of perch, chub, and trout across UK waters.
Engineered Action
Don’t let the size fool you. The Battle Grub’s ribbed body creates micro-vibrations on the retrieve, while the curly tail kicks and pulses even at the slowest crawl. That combination of texture and tail action gives this little grub a presence in the water that far exceeds its size — drawing fish in from distance through feel alone.
Pro-Tactics & Presentation:
Slow-Rolling: Deadly along canal margins, towpath edges, and urban stretches where perch stack up on structure. A steady retrieve on a 1–2g jig head keeps it in the zone.
The Lift-and-Drop: Hop it along gravel bars and lock walls — the tail flutters on the fall, triggering reactive strikes from territorial perch and chub.
Dropshotting: Pin it over features and let the tail do the work. Minimal rod input keeps it dancing on the spot — perfect for pressured fish in clear water.
The Maverick Difference
Unlike mass-produced factory lures, every Battle Grub is individually hand-made in the UK. Our colours are specifically mixed for UK water conditions — from the murky “tea” of city canals to the crystal-clear pits of the South East.
Note: Due to the bespoke, hand-finished nature of our lures, slight variations in colour and finish may occur between batches.
