A versatile creature for changing presentations in the same session. Texas and Carolina are useful starting choices.
How to fish it: On a jig head, let it fall, then twitch it along the bottom or drag slowly. On Texas, let it fall before twitching or jerking. Weightless surface dragging is another option when the rig and retrieve keep it at the surface.
Rigging: Texas and Carolina are useful starting choices, using an EWG #1–1/0; an offset worm hook can also work. For a conventional jig head, use #2–1/0, usually #1. Free rig, Jika, dropshot, kickback and weightless are alternatives; Ned is a secondary option. Choose the weight for the rig and conditions, up to 10 g or occasionally 15 g when needed.
Pack: 4 lures. Hooks and rigging sold separately.
Build the setup:
- Standard EWG Hooks. Choose #1 or 1/0. Add a separate weight for the rig.
- Jig Heads with Bait Keeper: 3 g / #2 or 5 g / #1 for the conventional jig-head option.
- Dropshot / Wacky Hooks for the dropshot option; match the hook to the lure and check the fit.
Hook sizes and weights are starting points. Check the hook fit and choose the weight for the depth, current and presentation.
